Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company in Fort Lauderdale is seeking an entry-level Engineer to assist in managing construction projects from start to finish. You will report to a Project Manager or Superintendent and help coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors on site.

Responsibilities include estimating, tracking costs, resolving design issues, handling change orders, and documenting all aspects of the project while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Knowledge of engineering principles and construction processes.
• Ability to read technical specs, blueprints, and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work with owner representatives, architects, engineers, inspectors, and subs.
• Assist in estimating, bidding processes, and tracking costs for budgets.
• Clarify design issues and resolve field problems and change orders.
• Document contracts, purchase orders, schedules, costs, and specs.
• Participate in meetings to coordinate work and manage labor concerns.
• Ensure work meets quality standards and contract specs.
• Support project schedules and track milestones.
• Document technical, financial, and personnel aspects of each project.
• Review drawings, specs, submittals, and change orders.
• Support site supervision to ensure safety and contract compliance.
