Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking an Entry-Level Engineer to assist in managing construction projects under the guidance of a Project Manager or Superintendent. The role focuses on coordinating with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth on-site operations and accurate documentation.

You will help with cost tracking, design issue resolution, and documentation of project phases, contracts, and changes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work with project owner representatives, architects, engineers, inspectors, and site subcontractors.
• Manage estimating and bidding processes and track costs to control the project budget.
• Resolve and clarify design issues.
• Identify and resolve field issues and change orders.
• Write contracts and purchase orders using boilerplate language to document work, schedules, projected costs, change orders and technical specifications.
• Participate in meetings to coordinate work and manage labor.
• Ensure work meets quality standards and contract specifications.
• Implement project schedules with each task for project completion.
• Document the technical, financial and personnel aspects of each project.
• Review drawings, specifications, submittals and change orders.
• Review each trade’s work progress with respect to each project phase.
• Provide field support to superintendents to ensure contract compliance and site maintenance.
• Track project phase completion against milestones.
• Set expectations for managing a safe work site.
• Document each phase of the project.
