Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking an entry-level Engineer (Finance) to support budgeting, cost tracking, and coordination on construction projects. Reporting to a project manager or superintendent, you will help manage costs, review drawings, and assist in change orders while learning safety standards and scheduling.

Qualified candidates hold a BS in engineering or construction management, have strong communication skills, and are eager to learn.

Qualifications

• BS in an engineering discipline, engineering technology, or construction management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with project owner representatives, architects, engineers, and subs on-site.
• Assist in estimating, bidding, and tracking project costs and budgets.
• Review drawings, specifications, submittals, and change orders.
• Clarify design issues and resolve field problems.
• Document project phases, schedules, and safety requirements.
