Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company Northeast seeks an Entry-Level Engineer (Finance) to support project teams with cost tracking, bidding, and scheduling. Reporting to a Project Manager or Superintendent, you will help manage budgets and document milestones.

Candidates should hold a BS in engineering or construction management, read drawings, and be proficient with MS Office; training will be provided in scheduling software to support field operations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safety regulations, ANSI standards, local and state building codes.
• Knowledge of general construction processes, practices and work sites.
• Proficiency in scheduling software (MS Project, Suretrak, Primavera).

Responsibilities

• Coordinating work with project owner representatives, architects, engineers, inspectors, and site subcontractors.
• Managing estimating and bidding processes and tracking costs to manage project budget.
• Resolving and clarifying design issues.
• Identifying and resolving field issues and change orders.
• Writing contracts and purchase orders using boilerplate language to document work, schedules, costs, change orders and specs.
• Participating in meetings to coordinate work and manage labor concerns.
• Ensuring work aligns with quality standards and contract specs.
• Implementing project schedules and documenting each phase.
