Job summary

IES is seeking a Communications Technician I to join our field team in the United States. The role involves installing work-area outlets for floors, modular furniture, and walls; routing and terminating low-voltage cabling, building cable racks and patch panels, and performing fire-stopping as needed.

The technician will handle grounding, maintain required paperwork, read blueprints, and comply with safety and quality standards. Basic hand tools and a willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalency.
• Zero to one year experience in telecommunications or related technical field.
• Ability to meet Company minimum driving standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install a work area outlet for floor, modular furniture, and wall; drop cable down a wall and route through furniture; perform pre-termination procedures and label cables.
• Build closets with racks, patch panels, fiber optic hardware; install grounding for racks and equipment.
• Perform fire-stopping on walls, install sleeves, and pull cable through sleeves and cores.
• Terminate low-voltage devices.
• Complete all IES COMMERCIAL paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers, etc).
• Adhere to all company, customer and industry quality and safety standards and regulations; perform other responsibilities as assigned.
