Job summary

IES Communications is seeking a Communications Technician II who can lead a small installer team and perform technical responsibilities of a Cable Installer. The role emphasizes coordinating daily workload and adhering to safety and quality standards.

The position requires the ability to travel within branch or regional territories and to train crew members, complete paperwork accurately, and ensure timely project completion. Grounding, labeling, and system testing are part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• Must possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in telecommunications or related technical field and ability to supervise others.
• Must possess and be proficient with the listed tools.
• Must interpret blueprints and project documents, including specifications, reporting and quality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Install a work area outlet for floor, modular furniture and wall.
• Build/install racks, patch panels, and backboards in closets.
• Perform testing: continuity tests, volt-ohm meter use, troubleshoot opens/shorts.
• Identify active voice/data circuits.
• Lead crew performance and provide training as needed.
