Job summary

Bunnell-Lammons Engineering (BLE) is seeking an Engineering Staff Associate to join our geotechnical team. You will support diverse projects in environmental, civil, and geotechnical disciplines, travelling to sites and collaborating with senior staff.

You will develop core skills in site investigations, data analysis, and report preparation while working toward EIT/GIT certification in a mentorship-driven environment. This role offers hands-on experience in a dynamic consulting setting.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineering or related ABET program.
• Progress toward EIT or GIT certification.
• Willingness to travel regularly to local/regional project sites, including overnight stays.
• Strong interest in environmental, civil, geotechnical principles and construction materials testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform analyses, calculations, and design for site development, foundations, walls, earthwork and pavements.
• Use AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GeoStudio, gINT, Tablogs for design, modeling and data analysis.
• Conduct site investigations, field inspections, and data collection to support projects.
• Draft exploration reports for review by senior staff.
• Develop foundational knowledge in environmental regulations and geotechnical principles under supervision.
• Communicate with clients under supervision, maintaining professional demeanor.
• Adhere to quality control procedures and assist with data/reports review.
• Assist in project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Learn risk management, safety protocols and regulatory compliance on sites.
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists, geologists, and technicians across disciplines.
• Gain exposure to contracts and vendor coordination under guidance.
• Support business development through proposals and marketing data.
• Track project progress and time utilization to understand performance indicators.
