Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors is seeking a Civil Engineer to support the complete design of civil-site projects. The role will work under general supervision at our Decatur, AL office, offering full benefits and growth opportunities. Relocation support may be available for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities include error-free design calculations, drafting support, and coordination with discipline leads. A Bachelor's or Master’s in Civil Engineering is required, with EIT preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university is required.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) registration is strongly preferred and may be required.
• This position requires up to 1 to 3 years of relevant civil-site engineering experience in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Produce low complex, complete design calculations and assignments.
• Provide design assistance on larger and more complex projects.
• Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies.
• Assist with drafting of plans and details for engineering drawings.
• Perform fieldwork to gather data, check tie-ins, and provide construction support.
• Develop written construction specifications defining scope, instructions, and quality standards.
• Perform land development and zoning code research for civil-site projects.
• Collaborate with the discipline lead engineer on scope changes.
• Review and check submittal drawings and documentation.
