Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors seeks a civil engineer to support the full design of civil-site projects. This role is based at our Decatur, AL office and offers full benefits, competitive pay, and upward mobility.

Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates. Responsibilities include design calculations, drafting support, cost studies, field data collection, and development of construction specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university is required.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) registration is strongly preferred and may be required.

Responsibilities

• Produce low complex, complete design calculations and assignments.
• Provide design assistance on larger and more complex assignments.
• Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies.
• Assist with drafting of plans and details for the completion of engineering drawings.
• Perform fieldwork to gather data, check tie-ins, and provide construction support.
• Develop written construction specifications that define the scope of work, provide specific instruction, and prescribe quality standards.
• Perform land development and zoning code research for civil-site development projects.
• Work with discipline lead engineer in identifying scope changes in projects.
• Review and check submittal drawings and documentation.
