Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors is seeking a Civil Engineer to support design of civil-site projects at our Decatur, AL office. The role is full-time with benefits and potential relocation assistance.

Ideal candidates hold a B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering and may have an Engineer in Training (EIT) credential. 1–3 years of relevant experience in civil-site projects is expected, with opportunity for upward mobility within a collaborative, team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university is required.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) registration is strongly preferred and may be required.

Responsibilities

• Produce low complex, complete design calculations and assignments.
• Provide design assistance on larger and more complex assignments.
• Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies.
• Assist with drafting of plans and details for the completion of engineering drawings.
• Perform fieldwork to gather data, check tie-ins, and provide construction support.
• Develop written construction specifications that define the scope of work, provide specific instruction, and prescribe quality standards.
• Perform land development and zoning code research for civil-site development projects.
• Work with discipline lead engineer in identifying scope changes in projects.
• Review and check submittal drawings and documentation.
