Job summary

NiSource Inc. is seeking a Drafter to create, revise, and maintain 2D CAD drawings for natural gas transmission and distribution pipelines. You will translate project information into accurate drawings to support new business, public and system improvements, and maintenance projects.

Drafter 1 focuses on foundational AutoCAD with Drafter 2 requiring more extensive hands-on experience. You will work with engineers, designers, and stakeholders to prepare piping & instrumentation diagrams,

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
Basic understanding of Plant 2D.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Validate driver's license
Ability to pass a DOT drug screen.

Responsibilities

Prepare and revise 2D technical drawings and schematics in AutoCAD, including piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and isometrics.
Maintain accurate records of drawing revisions and design changes.
Complete assigned tasks independently, seeking guidance from designers and engineering teams as needed.
Assist engineering
Review project plans, specifications, and supporting documents to prepare accurate drawings.
