Job summary

NiSource Inc. is seeking a Drafter to produce and revise 2D drawings for natural gas distribution and transmission pipelines using AutoCAD. You will collaborate with engineering teams, review plans, and ensure accurate schematics.

Drafter 1 focuses on foundational AutoCAD work; Drafter 2 requires more hands-on experience and independence, with ArcGIS integration for site footprints and GIS data. This role supports emergency response and after-hours tasks as needed; a DOT drug screen and valid

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
Basic understanding of Plant 2D.
Ability to pass a DOT drug screen.
Valid driver`s license.
Associates degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field is preferred.
Certified Drafter (CD) offered by ADAA is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist engineering.
Review project plans, specs and supporting documents to prepare accurate drawings.
Prepare and revise 2D drawings and schematics in AutoCAD, including P&IDs and isometrics.
Maintain records of drawing revisions and design changes.
Complete tasks independently with guidance from designers and engineers.
Support emergency response efforts and after-hours as needed.
Use ArcGIS to integrate GIS data for project footprint.
Integrate site survey data for processing.
Extrapolate GIS data to support site analysis and route selection.
