Job summary

NiSource Inc. is seeking a Drafter to create, revise, and maintain 2D CAD drawings for natural gas distribution and transmission pipelines.

You will work with engineering teams to translate project information into accurate drawings, supporting new business, public and system improvements, and maintenance projects. Drafter 1 covers foundational AutoCAD work; Drafter 2 requires more extensive AutoCAD experience and ability to revise drawings with some independence.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
Basic understanding of Plant 2D.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Validate driver's license.
Ability to pass a DOT drug screen.

Responsibilities

Prepare and revise 2D drawings and schematics in AutoCAD, including piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and isometrics.
Review project plans, specifications, and supporting documents to prepare accurate drawings.
Maintain accurate records of drawing revisions and design changes.
Complete assigned tasks independently, seeking guidance from designers and engineering teams as needed.
Support engineering and operations teams during emergencies and other business needs, including emergency outage management and after-hours support as needed.
