Job summary

NiSource is seeking a Drafter to create, revise, and maintain 2D CAD drawings for gas distribution and transmission pipelines. You will translate project information into precise drawings to support new business, public, and maintenance projects.

Two levels exist: Drafter 1 with foundational AutoCAD and ArcGIS usage, and Drafter 2 with more advanced AutoCAD experience and independent drafting capability. Expect collaboration across engineering teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Basic understanding of Plant 2D.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass a DOT drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Create, revise, and maintain 2D drawings in AutoCAD.
• Review project plans, specs and supporting documents to prepare accurate drawings.
• Prepare piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and isometrics.
• Maintain records of drawing revisions and design changes.
• Support engineering and operations teams including after-hours emergency support.
