Job summary

MAXIMUS is seeking a data analytics professional to transform complex operational data into actionable insights for stakeholders in Minnesota. You will guide multi-project data usage, develop new KPIs, and build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL Server and Databricks.

The role emphasizes data quality, ML readiness, and impactful dashboards in Power BI. The position requires 5–7 years of experience, a related bachelor's degree, and strong skills in SQL, Python/R, Spark, and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field; 5-7 years of relevant professional experience required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Access.
• Working knowledge of SQL Server/SQL/T-SQL, including querying, joins, indexing basics, and relational schemas.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks and Apache Spark, preferably PySpark.
• Foundational programming skills in Python or R for analysis and ML workflows.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT, data modeling, data quality checks, version control.
• Experience building visual analytics with Power BI, including datasets/semantic models and DAX.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy advanced methods to analyze operational data and derive insights for stakeholders and partners.
• Function as PI for data usage across projects and guide on product performance.
• Analyze data, identify trends, provide insights around operations and project data.
• Develop and implement new metrics, functions, and scripts as KPIs.
• Code to segment populations from large datasets and output files per specs.
• Create and maintain documentation of data sources, transformations, and methodologies.
• Ad hoc tool development to support analytical areas.
• Learn emerging technologies and systems for company initiatives.
• Support team communications and strategy implementation; project management tasks.
• Acquire, integrate, and prepare data from multiple sources for reporting and readiness analytics.
• Design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL Server and Databricks with Spark/PySpark.
• Develop curated analysis-ready datasets with data quality and lineage.
• Optimize data processing performance and monitoring of recurring workloads.
• Apply statistical methods and ML to generate actionable insights and forecasts.
• Create dashboards and analytical products in Power BI with semantic models and DAX measures.
• Support low-code solutions by integrating data products into Power Apps and Automations.
• Work on text and language-focused use cases with unstructured data.
• Familiarity with LLMs and agent concepts and assist senior team members.
