Job summary

SimVentions, Inc. is seeking a junior to mid-level software-focused Systems Engineer for on-site work at the NAVAIR base in Patuxent River, MD. The role covers software systems engineering for acquisition, development and sustainment of aviation programs, with a likely start after September 1, 2026.

This position requires an active Secret clearance (Top Secret possible later). Compensation ranges from $70,000 to $122,000 USD annually, plus benefits and ESOP; US citizenship is required for

Qualifications

• At least two years of software or systems engineering experience.
• Knowledge of avionics systems.
• Must be a US citizen with ability to obtain/hold clearance (Secret required; Top Secret possible later).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software requirements
• Review and evaluate vendor software specifications
• Coordinate with vendors on software and system integration
• Conduct analysis of software defects
• Coordinate with cybersecurity specialists
• Participate in System Engineering Technical Reviews (SRRs, SSRs, PDRs, CDRs, TRRs)
• Support the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) process
• Participate in Agile and SAFe team processes
• Prepare and review Statements of Work (SOWs) and CDRLs
• Develop Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs)
• Support technical evaluations of contractor proposals
