Sun Auto Tire & Service in Missouri is seeking an Entry-Level Automotive Technician to perform inspections, maintenance, and basic repairs under supervision, expanding diagnostic skills with experienced teammates. This full-time role offers paid training, a path toward advanced technician roles, weekend shifts as needed, and a competitive pay range of $20–$27 per hour plus a flag rate.

Candidates should have 0–2 years in a shop, basic tools, a valid driver's license, and be willing to learn

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of automotive experience in a shop environment or equivalent technical training.
• Able to follow written procedures, torque specs, and safety standards.
• Willingness to ask for help, accept coaching, and elevate concerns when appropriate.
• Possess and utilize basic tools required to perform the functions of the role.
• Valid driver’s license and successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Records check.
• State Inspector License, where applicable, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire if required by the store.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends as needed.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Perform Multi-Point and Digital Vehicle Inspections, document findings and photos.
• Complete maintenance and entry-level repairs (oil/fluids, filters, batteries, tires, brakes).
• Handle tire mounting/dismounting, balancing, rotations, and related wear-item replacements.
• Perform basic diagnostics with guidance and escalate complex issues to senior/lead technician.
• Follow repair procedures, torque specs, bleed procedures, and post-repair checks.
• Conduct State Safety and Emission Inspections where applicable.
• Communicate findings and repair status to Store Managers and Service Advisors.
• Keep a clean, safe work area and use tools/equipment properly.
• Collaborate with the team, accept coaching, and participate in ongoing training.
• Work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
