The Maine Judicial Branch in Lincoln, Maine is seeking certified law enforcement officers and qualified applicants to become Deputy Judicial Marshals. This full-time position provides a safe, secure court experience for judges, staff, participants, and the public.

Starting pay is $25.72–$27.03 per hour, with a Grade 12 ladder of $25.72–$34.88 per hour and a geographical cost of living stipend. A strong benefits package accompanies this essential public service role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of Maine Criminal Justice Academy Pre-Service Training.
• Sponsor possible for Pre-Service Training on case-by-case basis.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Judicial Marshal for court days, maintain security and awareness.
• Enforce Maine laws within courthouse, monitor surveillance, assist with entry screening.
• Oversee courtroom processes, movement of paperwork, and evidence as needed.
• Patrol public areas of court facilities and maintain presence as assigned.
• Announce openings, recesses, and closings of court sessions.
• Direct people to locations and provide court schedule information.
• Ensure parties are present before judge enters courtroom.
• Maintain annual law enforcement training and CPR/First Aid, firearms quals.
• Respond to emergencies and ensure courthouse safety.
