Qualifications

• Certification as Judicial Marshal or completion within one year expected.
• Eligible for certification by Maine CJ Academy.
• Ability to interact effectively with judges, staff, and public.

Responsibilities

• Provide security for judges, staff, and participants in court sessions.
• Remain alert and responsive to security risks during proceedings.
• Enforce Maine laws within the courthouse and can make arrests.
• Monitor surveillance and operate entry screening equipment.
• Manage movement of paperwork and evidence between parties.
• Maintain security presence throughout courthouse areas.
