Job summary

FirstEnergy is hiring Journeyman Lineworkers to build and maintain electric power systems across the Ohio service area, including Elyria. The role requires successful completion of a federal/state sanctioned apprenticeship and/or IBEW training, with DOT screening and travel across the region.

Employees will work outdoors in all weather, drive as needed, and participate in extended hours and emergency response.

Qualifications

• Completion of a federal or state sanctioned line worker apprenticeship or equivalent combination of apprenticeship and IBEW training.
• Valid Class A driving license required by first day of employment.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Travel to various job locations within the assigned region.
• Perform tests, frame, set and anchor poles; install cross-arms and transformers.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions and wear PPE as required.
• Assist in loading/unloading tools and materials, and operate equipment as trained.
