Job summary

Qualifications

At least 4 years working experience as a lineman or equivalent combination of education and experience in an industrial construction setting.
Strong working knowledge of the installation or repair of cables or wires used in electrical power or distribution systems and transmission towers and lines.
Must have all necessary tools (see Lineman Tool List).
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Pre-employment onboarding requirements may include criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with laws.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, inspect, test and repair electrical distribution and transmission systems, including conduits, cables, wires, and related equipment as per plans and codes.
Test conductors and identify corresponding conductors to prevent incorrect connections.
Climb poles or use bucket trucks to access equipment.
Splice or solder cables and string conductors between poles, towers, and buildings.
Coordinate work with other crews and participate in safety programs.
Drive to job sites and inspect lines for insulation and clearance.
