Job summary

FirstEnergy Pennsylvania Electric Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp., is hiring Journey Line Workers for distribution across our service territory, primarily in New Jersey. The roles involve building and maintaining electric power systems, and restoring service to customers in all weather, with potential travel and relocation as needed.

These positions require a federal/state sanctioned line worker apprenticeship or equivalent, a valid Class A permit, and a DMV medical exam by day one.

Qualifications

• Completion of a federal or state sanctioned line worker apprenticeship with approved supporting documentation (e.g., IBEW Journeyman Lineman A Ticket) and/or union or union‑affiliated sponsored line worker apprenticeship.
• Possession of a valid Class A driving permit by first day of employment.
• Pass a DMV medical exam by first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Travel to various job locations within the assigned region.
• Review job work requirements and provide input for the day.
• Load and unload tools, materials, and supplies into and out of vehicles at crew headquarters and job sites.
• Lifts, pulls, and carries insulators, cross-arms, equipment, tools, grounds, dampers, and other materials.
• Operate hydraulic equipment including drills, boom trucks, diggers, pole tamper, hydraulic jack, and bucket truck once certified.
