Job summary

NTC Language Services is seeking reliable Japanese-English educational interpreters for in-person work in NYC. This part-time, as-needed role requires interpreters to travel to assignments and provide accurate, culturally responsive communication between students, families, and school staff.

Applicants must be fully proficient in both English and Japanese, maintain confidentiality, and deliver interpretation with neutrality and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Be able to read, write, and speak proficiently in both English and Japanese.
• Interpret spoken communication accurately between English and Japanese.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding students and school matters.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person interpretation for parent-teacher conferences, CSE/CPSE meetings, student evaluations and enrollments.
• Interpret for school orientations, workshops, family engagement events, and counseling meetings.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and neutrality of interpreted communications.
