Job summary

NTC Language Services is seeking reliable in-person Educational Interpreters for Italian in NYC. This part-time, as-needed role involves interpreting for school-related meetings and events, in person in NYC, NY. Candidates must be fluent in English and Italian and able to travel to assignments as needed.

Starting pay is $35.00 per hour, with assignments offered based on language needs, location, qualifications, and availability. Remote work is not offered for this position.

Qualifications

• Be able to read, write, and speak proficiently in English and Italian.
• Interpret spoken communication accurately between English and Italian.
• Maintain neutrality and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person interpretation for parent-teacher conferences, CSE/CPSE meetings, student evaluations and enrollment appointments, school orientations and workshops, and family engagement events.
• Interpret accurately and completely between English and Italian while preserving meaning and tone.
• Remain neutral, confidential and professional, arriving on time for each assignment and adhering to policies.
