Position: Janitor

We seek detail-oriented, flexible individuals willing to undertake non-routine cleaning and special projects as needed. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, dining areas, and public spaces. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Empty trash receptacles.
• Service, clean, and restock restrooms.
• Polish furniture and fixtures.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors with appropriate cleaners and tools.
• Dust furniture, walls, machinery, and equipment.
• Perform minor repairs on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems as needed.
• Prepare cleaning solutions following specifications.
• Steam-clean or shampoo carpets.
• Strip, seal, and polish floors.
• Restore interiors damaged by fire, smoke, or water using commercial cleaning equipment.
• Clean laboratory equipment with solvents, brushes, rags, and power cleaning tools.
• Operate vehicles required for cleaning tasks, including vans and industrial equipment.
• Follow safety procedures when handling chemical cleaners and operating equipment.
• Monitor building security and safety, including locking doors after hours and checking electrical appliances.
• Move heavy furniture and equipment manually or with hand trucks.
• Mow and trim lawns and shrubbery, and clear grounds debris.
• Report major repairs or system upgrades to management.
• Replenish supplies and equipment as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

The physical requirements include sitting, handling, reaching, standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, tasting, and smelling. Employees must regularly lift up to 25 pounds and frequently lift up to 50 pounds. Vision capabilities include close, distant, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
