Job summary

Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Deputies Association (KCSDA) seeks a clerical support worker for the Kalamazoo County Jail. The role involves data entry, inventory of resident property, scheduling with law enforcement and mental health partners, and ensuring secure communications.

Responsibilities include handling phone inquiries, maintaining records, and coordinated interdepartmental communication. Applicants with prior criminal justice or customer service experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of college coursework preferred.
• Experience in criminal justice, law enforcement, or legal field is a plus.
• Customer service or data entry experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process intake and release of residents.
• Inventory resident property and document items.
• Schedule meetings with partners (law enforcement, courts, probation, mental health).
• Monitor audio-visual systems for security and communication.
• Answer calls and direct inquiries to staff.
• Maintain and update records and information systems.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
