Job summary

Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Deputies Association (KCSDA) is seeking personnel to oversee security for assigned court facilities in Kalamazoo County. Applicants must meet MCOLES certifiability, have a high school diploma or equivalent, be at least 18, and hold a valid Michigan driver's license.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age and have a valid Michigan driver’s license.
• MCOLES certification eligibility required to be considered.
• Felony convictions, pending charges, or warrants disqualify from employment.

Responsibilities

• Secure court buildings and property and conduct security screening of all visitors entering the courthouse.
• Operate and monitor magnetometers, X-ray machines, and other screening equipment at entry points.
• Respond quickly to alarms, security breaches, or incidents affecting courthouse safety.
• Operate radios and PA systems to coordinate with staff and law enforcement personnel.
• De-escalate conflicts and minimize disruptions to operations; summon assistance as needed.
• Provide armed security services in accordance with state standards and policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
