Job summary

Socket.dev seeks an experienced IT Systems Specialist II to provide advanced technical support and administration for information systems, network infrastructure, cloud services, and cybersecurity initiatives in its Sacramento, CA office.

The role requires troubleshooting complex hardware, software, and network issues, plus participation in system upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery efforts. Collaboration with multiple teams and vendors is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, CS, IT, or related field preferred.
• 3–5 years of progressively responsible IT support or systems administration experience.
• Experience with Windows environments, 365, AD/Entra ID, and endpoint mgmt.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows servers, AD, M365, and Azure.
• Monitor performance, availability, and resources for reliability.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
• Perform system patching, deployment, and upgrades.
• Support backup, DR, and business continuity processes.
• Provide Tier II/III support across locations and document procedures.
• Coordinate with vendors and support onboarding/offboarding activities.
• Assist with network administration including LAN/WAN and VPNs.
• Maintain endpoint protection and cybersecurity controls.
