Job summary

Iron Systems, Inc is seeking a Level 2 Network Technician to maintain and support data center infrastructure in Sacramento. You will troubleshoot hardware, install servers and networking devices, and help keep data center operations clean and organized.

The role requires hands-on experience with data center equipment, strong teamwork, and the ability to travel to remote sites as needed. Leadership and incident-management skills are valued for coordinating small on-site teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in data center operations or IT infrastructure support.
• Experience leading a team executing a project.
• Knowledgeable in data center environments including MMR, cages, and shared areas.
• Understanding of server hardware components, diagnostics, and fault diagnosis.
• Understanding of routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Experience with structured cabling and labeling for organization.
• Basic electrician skills: power testing and connector types.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and execute installations with guidance from the NOC or engineering team on IT devices.
• Support Physical Servers, Storage & Backup Devices, and Server Appliances.
• Assist with Hyper-Converged Infrastructure installations (e.g., Nutanix, Cisco UCS).
• Ensure clean, organized data center and proper cable management.
• Coordinate device connections (peripherals, power, network ports) and on-site tasks.
