Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a mid-level Systems Administrator to support Linux and Windows environments, manage virtualized platforms, and help maintain backup and security controls in a fast-paced enterprise setting.

You will collaborate with cybersecurity, network, and operations teams, apply patches, document configurations, and participate in incident response and on-call rotation as part of a proactive IT staff.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience as a Systems Administrator supporting Linux and Windows.
• Experience in multi‑platform environments and following SOPs and guidance.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving skills, and judgment.
• Familiarity with automation or scripting tools (Bash, Python, PowerShell, Ansible).
• Experience with cloud services or virtualization (VMware, Azure, AWS).
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-user and system support for infrastructure platforms during core business hours, with rotational on‑call participation as scheduled.
• Use monitoring and analytics tools to help maintain system performance and identify issues.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure systems meet compliance and security requirements.
• Follow established change management procedures for hardware and software updates.
• Assist with hardware troubleshooting and coordinate repairs with vendors.
• Manage assigned tasks and tickets, ensuring timely completion of incidents, changes, and service requests.
