Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS in CA- Folsom is hiring a mid-level Systems Administrator Systems II to support Linux (RHEL) and Windows environments, VM management, and backup ecosystems. You will help with patches, change control, and incident response while coordinating with vendors and cybersecurity teams.

The role requires 2–4 years of experience, strong scripting capabilities, ITSM familiarity, and a proactive, collaborative mindset. The position is full-time and on-site with no remote option.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience as a Systems Administrator supporting Linux (RHEL) and Windows environments.
• Experience in multi-platform environments and following SOPs/technical guidance.
• Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and understanding of network protocols and cybersecurity basics.
• Experience with system lifecycle management, patching, and routine updates.
• Familiarity with automation or scripting tools (Bash, Python, PowerShell, Ansible).

Responsibilities

• Provide end-user and system support for infrastructure platforms during core business hours with on-call rotation.
• Use monitoring tools to maintain system performance and identify issues.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to meet security requirements.
• Follow change management procedures for hardware and software updates.
• Assist with hardware troubleshooting and vendor coordination.
• Support deployment and evaluation of new server hardware and software needs.
• Assist with incident response and backup/restore operations.
• Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and SOPs.
