Job summary

The City of Brea is seeking an Information Technology Specialist to support and maintain computer and information systems across LAN/WAN environments. The role includes troubleshooting hardware, software, network and telecom issues, and serving as a liaison with contracting agencies.

The position may be filled at either Specialist I or II level depending on qualifications. Responsibilities include monitoring systems, backing up data, developing reports, posting web content, and assisting with IT

Qualifications

• Two years of progressive experience in information systems operations and maintenance.
• Equivalent to an associate of arts degree in computer science, MIS or related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to end users for hardware, software, network, and telecommunications issues.
• Monitor systems, network and telecommunications activity, performance and usage.
• Develop specialized queries and database/applications reports.
• Develop and post Internet/Intranet content as required.
• Assist in enforcing information technology policies and procedures.
• Assist in establishing long-range information systems planning.
