Job summary

The City of Huntington Beach is seeking an Information Technology Technician to join the Business Systems division of ITS. The role supports minicomputer systems, LAN/WAN, and related peripherals under close supervision and offers progression from entry to lead levels.

The ideal candidate has a year of hands-on experience in software development and application support, with skills in Windows OS, Python, Java, ASP.NET, and C#.

Qualifications

• Entry- to intermediate-level technical duties in support of minicomputer systems, networks and peripheral equipment.
• Experience with hardware, software installations, configurations and basic repairs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with service requests for hardware, software, peripherals, and AV equipment; remote or on-site assessment.
• Perform basic installation and maintenance of computers and peripherals; configure basic software.
• Maintain system maintenance logs and respond to tickets/work orders.
• Assist with routine backups, upgrades, and hardware/software support activities.
• Set up computers with printers, scanners, and other equipment; load software.
• Manage user accounts, access levels, passwords, and file maintenance; document changes.
• Coordinate with manufacturers for warranty services.
• Maintain asset inventory and system documentation.
• Configure OS images for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices using imaging software.
• Assist with meetings setup in conference rooms and other locations.
