Job summary

Ohio State University is seeking a Systems Manager in the Engineering department to deliver tier 1 and 2 IT computing support for faculty, staff, students, and labs. The role involves deploying images, creating accounts, and maintaining device inventories.

The successful candidate will have 2–4 years of experience, strong communication skills, and familiarity with Windows/Apple ecosystems and productivity suites. The position follows ITIL practices and supports SLAs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or technical/vocational degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2–4 years’ experience in supporting Windows/Apple clients in a networked environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and customer service background in a technical environment.
• Familiarity with Microsoft or Google productivity suites and help desk processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide tier 1 and 2 IT computing support for faculty, staff, students, researchers and computing labs.
• Deploy images and software applications; create accounts and document configurations; inventory assets.
• Write documentation and provide computing device orientation to customers; meet SLAs and service goals.
• Assist in audits, compliance reporting and follow ITIL best practices for availability and security.
