Job summary

Connecticut Orthopaedics is seeking a full-time IT Systems Administrator to join the IT team in Hamden, CT. The role blends hands-on end-user support with automation and security in a large private practice environment.

You will maintain Windows domain infrastructure, support networking at the access layer, and develop scripts to automate tasks while ensuring timely resolution of tickets for 500–1,000+ users.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in systems administration or senior help desk.
• Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy knowledge.
• Scripting ability in PowerShell or other tools.
• Experience with managed switches (VLANs, trunking) and wireless AP deployment/troubleshooting.
• Microsoft 365 administration.
• Strong troubleshooting and customer service orientation.
• Ability to document processes clearly and train junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Help Desk Administration & Support across a 500–1,000+ user environment.
• Manage ticketing queues, SLAs, and escalation paths; identify recurring issues and drive root‑cause fixes.
• Administer and support end‑user computing tools including Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365, and NinjaOne RMM.
• Support and troubleshoot desktop and remote workstation fleet (Windows and iGel).
• Document SOPs and knowledge base articles for common issues.
• Write and maintain NinjaOne RMM and PowerShell scripts to automate tasks.
• Develop scripts and scheduled tasks for security hardening initiatives.
• Build diagnostic and monitoring scripts to proactively identify issues.
