Job summary

COCC in Essex, CT seeks an IT Administrator to support and maintain its technology infrastructure across servers, identities, and security in a regulated environment. This onsite role offers exposure to Windows Server, AD, Entra ID, M365, virtualization, and backup systems.

You will implement patching, system hardening, document change records, and collaborate with vendors while using automation tools and Copilot to improve operations.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of systems administration or infrastructure experience.
• Experience in banking or regulated environments preferred.
• Strong scripting with PowerShell or comparable language.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain Windows Server, AD, Entra ID, M365, virtualization, and related infrastructure.
• Manage service accounts, security groups, access controls, onboarding/offboarding, and access reviews.
• Install, configure, upgrade, monitor, and troubleshoot systems, applications, hardware, and supporting infrastructure.
• Perform server and endpoint patching, upgrades, system hardening, vulnerability remediation, and administration of security controls.
• Review security alerts, investigate activity, document findings, and escalate suspected incidents and risks.
• Manage backups and disaster recovery testing and processes.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, application, identity, and connectivity issues.
• Coordinate maintenance with approved vendors and service providers.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, diagrams, system configurations, scripts, and change records.
• Use approved automation tools and Copilot for research, troubleshooting, scripting, documentation, and process improvement.
• Evaluate, order, and provision approved technology while maintaining inventory, licensing, warranty, and lifecycle records.
• Collaborate with team members through knowledge sharing and cross training.

Our client, an established community bank on the Connecticut shoreline, is seeking an experienced IT Administrator to support and maintain its technology infrastructure. This fully onsite role is ideal for a technically skilled professional who enjoys working across systems administration, security, infrastructure support, and technology operations in a regulated environment.

What You’ll Do

• Support and maintain Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, virtualization platforms, and related infrastructure technologies.
• Assist with management of service accounts, security groups, access controls, onboarding, offboarding, and access reviews.
• Install, configure, upgrade, monitor, and troubleshoot systems, applications, hardware, and supporting infrastructure.
• Perform server and endpoint patching, upgrades, system hardening, vulnerability remediation, and administration of security controls.

• Manage backup and recovery systems, test restorations, and support disaster recovery efforts.

What You’ll Bring

• Demonstrated knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, virtualization, identity and access management, patch management, backup and recovery, network services, vulnerability remediation, and PowerShell or comparable scripting.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot technical issues and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong documentation and organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to appropriately **escalate** risks and unresolved issues.
• Experience in banking or another regulated environment preferred.
• Relevant technical certifications preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field preferred. Equivalent education, certifications, and experience may be considered.
• Minimum four years of systems administration or infrastructure experience.

This is an on-site role in Essex, CT. The salary range for the role is $80,000 – $95,000.
