Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking an IT Technician to support hardware and software issues for end users under the Help Desk Manager. You will help configure laptops, install software, and resolve technical questions.

The role requires an associates degree in computer science or related experience, strong Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365 skills, basic networking, and good communication. On-site work in Sandy, Utah with occasional after-hours support.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Computer Science or related work experience.
• Must have experience with direct user support in a large, networked environment.
• Experience installing and maintaining Windows 10 and Windows 11; Windows Server 2016 or higher is a plus.
• Experience setting up, configuring and maintaining Microsoft 365 accounts.
• Basic understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP).
• Valid license and good driving record.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Help Desk Manager with configuration and repair of laptops and deployment of new computers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve end user computing problems via phone and in person.
• Submit vendor warranty claims and document repairs.
• Desktop and mobile phone system support and setup for new users.
• Occasionally work after hours and weekends.
