Job summary

Layton Construction in Utah seeks an IT Technician to support computer hardware and software issues and resolve end user concerns relating to technology. The role reports to the Help Desk Manager and involves hands-on laptop deployment and remote/onsite support.

You will configure, repair, and maintain devices, manage Microsoft 365 accounts, troubleshoot Teams, and perform basic networking tasks, with occasional after-hours work and a focus on customer service and safety.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent work experience.
• Direct user support in a large networked environment preferred.
• Experience installing/maintaining Windows 10 and Windows 11; Windows Server 2016+ is a plus.
• Experience setting up Microsoft 365 accounts.
• Basic understanding of Teams phone systems and troubleshooting.
• Fundamental networking (TCP/IP, wiring, etc).
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Configure and repair laptop computers; deploy new devices.
• Troubleshoot end-user computing issues via phone or in person.
• Analyze problems and determine appropriate maintenance level.
• Process vendor warranty claims and related documentation.
• Provide desktop and mobile phone system support; set up new users.
• May work after hours or weekends as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
