Job summary

The City of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, is seeking an IT Technician to provide technical support and maintain computer systems, hardware, and software across the organization. This role emphasizes troubleshooting, user assistance, and ensuring secure, efficient IT operations.

You will set up devices, diagnose problems, support Windows and IOS platforms and Microsoft 365 apps, monitor tickets, log solutions, and contribute to cybersecurity while supporting remote and on-site staff.

Qualifications

Vocational/Technical degree with training in computer technology and two years' hardware/software diagnostics/repair experience preferred.
Alternative: high school diploma with industry standard certifications (A+, ITF+, Network+, Security+, CCNA, MCP, MTA, MCSE) and two years' experience.

Responsibilities

Set up and deploy desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals for staff.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for end-users.
Support Windows and iOS platforms and Microsoft 365 apps (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, SharePoint).
Monitor and prioritize IT tickets; provide clear end-user communication.
Log issues and solutions in the IT knowledge base; maintain documentation.
Use remote tools and MDM to troubleshoot for remote/hybrid staff.
