Job summary
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is seeking an IT Support Technician II to provide technical support for departments, faculty, staff, and students. The role focuses on basic hardware and some software support, with specialization in department-specific IT needs.
The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and up to five years combined education/experience, with a background check after offer. Strong OS experience and PC support certification are preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in CS, MIS, IT or related field with 1 year of related full-time paid experience or 5 years total (education+experience).
- Criminal background check after conditional offer before employment.
- Experience with multiple operating systems including Windows and macOS; familiarity with IT policies and service goals.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with IT staff to meet needs within IT operations and procedures.
- Log into phone system and be ready to handle calls.
- Ensure prompt answering of calls received by the technician.
- Assist in developing IT policies, procedures, and service goals.
