Job summary

Kraft Kennedy is seeking a full-time on-site Desktop Support Specialist in the Chicago area. The role supports a diverse set of clients through on-site and remote help, reporting to a Team Leader within the Support Practice Group.

Responsibilities include handling end-user issues, server and network concerns, virtualization, and storage, with an emphasis on customer service, troubleshooting, and collaboration with vendors. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in IT or related field or a minimum of 3 years of related work experience in lieu of a degree.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Very organized and detail oriented, with a high degree of accuracy and follow up.
• Strong problem solving and technical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience supporting Windows Server and Exchange infrastructure is preferred.
• Experience with server and network administration, software deployment and document management is preferred.
• Some combined industry experience with Windows desktops.
• Virtualization and storage experience strongly preferred.
• MCSE and/or related technical certifications are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to geographically diverse nationwide clients using remote connections, ticketing system, monitoring consoles, and more.
• Provide on-site assistance to clients.
• Assist users and IT staff with a broad range of computer application problems, server issues, virtualization, SAN, networking, and security issues.
• Escalate issues and coordinate with third-party vendors and team members to resolve complex client issues.
• Initiate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on complex client issues for one-time resolutions.
• Contribute to internal projects to grow the Support Practice Group.
• Provide regional on-site client support as necessary.
