Job summary

University of the Virgin Islands is seeking an IT Specialist I to provide frontline IT support for the Medical School building, including desktops, classroom technology, video conferencing, and computer labs. You will respond to helpdesk requests, document procedures, and create simple user guides for faculty, staff, and students.

The role requires an Associate’s degree in IT or related field (or equivalent experience) and at least one year of support experience.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least one year of experience providing technical support in a helpdesk or desktop support environment.
Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications (including Outlook).
Ability to troubleshoot hardware (printers, monitors, etc.) and software issues.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to follow written instructions and accurately document work.
Willingness to learn, take direction, and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Provide frontline IT support for desktops, classroom technology, video conferencing, and computer labs.
Respond to helpdesk requests, document basic procedures, and create simple user guides and tips for faculty, staff, and students.
Assist with setup and troubleshooting of equipment in classrooms and labs as needed.
