Job summary

West Virginia University Health System in Morgantown seeks an IT Support Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot PC hardware and software. You will provide end-user training and on-site assistance while diagnosing hardware and software issues and coordinating with IT processes.

The role covers workstation support, software testing, and basic network troubleshooting. Travel to WVUHS sites may be required; on-call duties could apply.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Information Technology or a technical field OR two years’ experience with PC hardware and software support.
• Certification within four months of certification training completion will be required by WVUHS IT.

Responsibilities

• Workstation: provides PC, laptop, tablet, and device support for end-users; troubleshoots hardware and software; documents issues and routes to proper channels.
• Installs and tests end-user hardware and software; supports wired and wireless devices.
• Maintains technical knowledge through training and online courses; provides on-site end-user training as needed.
• Provides general network-level support for device connections and troubleshooting.
• Participates in project coordination, documentation, and team collaboration; may travel to remote WVUHS sites for deployments and support.
