Job summary

Ampere Computing is seeking a proactive IT Support Specialist for a 6‑month contingent role based in Portland, Oregon. You will provide front-line technical support for Windows, macOS, and Linux, handle user accounts, and contribute to a secure, efficient IT environment.

The position emphasizes customer service, strong problem-solving, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting. Renewal or extension may be possible based on business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology preferred.
• 2+ years in IT Support, Helpdesk, or System Administration in fast-paced environments.
• Strong skills across Windows, macOS, and Linux troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical assistance via phone, email, chat, and remote access.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues for end-users.
• Manage user accounts, resets, and access permissions.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and runbooks.
• Collaborate with Tier 2/IT teams for complex problems.
• Support remote and in-person meetings with AV and collaboration tools.
