Job summary

Systems Solutions, an IT Managed Services Provider in Paducah, KY, seeks an IT Support Specialist. The role may be remote or based in the Paducah office.

Candidates should have strong customer service and experience troubleshooting Microsoft Desktop systems, Office 365, AD, and networking basics. Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in help desk or desktop support, familiarity with Windows servers and virtualization, and a willingness to learn new business applications.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in IT help desk or desktop support
• Experience troubleshooting Microsoft platforms (Office 365, AD, Windows)
• Knowledge of basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
• Experience troubleshooting hardware issues and diagnostics
• Understanding of IT security practices (virus remediation, firewalls, phishing)
• Basic Apple/macOS/iOS troubleshooting a plus
• Ability to quickly learn and support various business applications
• Associate or Bachelor degree in a technology field preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 remote technical support to clients

We currently have an opening for an IT Support Specialist. The position may be filled with a remote candidate, or with a candidate in Systems Solutions’ Paducah, KY office. Applicants should have strong customer service skills and experience troubleshooting Microsoft Desktop systems and applications in a professional environment. Experience supporting general networking, Microsoft Server operating systems, and virtualization is a plus.

Essential Duties and Skills

• Strong Customer Service Skills Providing Level 1 and Level 2 remote technical support to clients.
• Works effectively within a team structure.
• Can effectively implement and provide support for business-class hardware/software.
• Work within a ticketing system and maintain a ticket queue.
• Maintain thorough, accurate, and up-to-date client documentation.
• Maintain up-to-date records of work performed on trouble tickets.
• Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Communicate effectively with users to provide updates on trouble tickets.
• Maintain appropriate industry skills and certifications.

Ideal Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in an IT help desk or desktop support environment or equivalent educational experience
• Experience troubleshooting or supporting Microsoft platforms (e.g. Office 365, Active Directory, Microsoft Windows Desktop/Server)
• Knowledge of basic networking principles, what they mean, and how they are applied (TCPIP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN)
• Experience troubleshooting standard hardware issues and running diagnostics
• An understanding of standard IT Security practices (virus remediation, firewalls, phishing, etc.)
• Basic Apple, Mac OS, and iOS troubleshooting experience a plus
• Demonstrable ability to quickly learn and support various business applications
• An Associate or Bachelor degree in a technology-related field is preferred 1-3 years customer service experience.
