Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking an IT Support Specialist to support a leading organization in networking and technology. This hybrid role is based in the RTP, NC area with on-site presence every Tuesday and remote work for the rest of the week.

It starts as an initial 3-month contract with potential for quarterly extensions and long-term growth. The IT Support Specialist will work with customers and internal teams to support onboarding, implementation, platform adoption, and troubleshooting across IT

Qualifications

• 2+ years in IT support or related technical role.
• Experience with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, SSH, SNMP.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent IT field experience.

Responsibilities

• Partner with customer IT and infrastructure teams to support onboarding, implementation, and activation of technology solutions.
• Assist with deployment, configuration, and support of VM-based collectors, integrations, and monitoring tools within customer environments.
• Provide technical guidance related to networking, connectivity, system access, DNS, IP addressing, firewall policies, and authentication requirements.
• Support cloud-based implementations, API integrations, system migrations, and platform adoption initiatives.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and application issues while coordinating resolutions with engineering and support teams.
• Deliver technical training, end-user guidance, and best practices to ensure successful platform utilization.
• Document customer environments, technical configurations, and implementation milestones.

Piper Companies is seeking an IT Support Specialist to support a leading organization in the networking and technology space. This is a hybrid opportunity located in the RTP (Research Triangle Park), NC area, with a required onsite presence every Tuesday and remote work for the remainder of the week. This position offers an initial 3-month contract with quarterly extensions and strong long-term potential. The IT Support Specialist will work directly with customers and internal teams to support onboarding, implementation, platform adoption, and technical troubleshooting efforts, serving as a trusted resource for IT infrastructure and connectivity-related initiatives.

Responsibilities of the IT Support Specialist Include:

• Partner with customer IT and infrastructure teams to support onboarding, implementation, and activation of technology solutions.
• Assist with deployment, configuration, and support of virtual machine-based collectors, integrations, and monitoring tools within customer environments.
• Provide technical guidance related to networking, connectivity, system access, DNS, IP addressing, firewall policies, and authentication requirements.
• Support cloud-based implementations, API integrations, system migrations, and platform adoption initiatives.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and application issues while coordinating resolutions with engineering and support teams.
• Deliver technical training, end-user guidance, and best practices to ensure successful platform utilization.
• Document customer environments, technical configurations, and implementation milestones.

Qualifications for the IT Support Specialist Include:

• 2+ years of experience in IT support, technical support, help desk, systems administration, network support, implementation, or a related technical role.
• Hands-on experience with networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, SSH, SNMP, and virtualized environments.
• Exposure to Windows environments, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), or other enterprise IT infrastructure technologies is preferred.
• Understanding of cybersecurity concepts including vulnerability management, software patching, system hardening, CVEs, and endpoint security.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical users.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

Compensation:

• $28-$35/hr
