Job summary

The City of Tyler is seeking an Information Technology Specialist II to deliver quality IT services across City departments. You will support IT hardware, software, and projects, including server and desktop environments, and work closely with the HelpDesk Manager to maintain operations and security.

Applicants should have an Associate degree and relevant IT experience, be prepared for on-call rotation, and hold a valid Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required plus at least one year of relevant experience.
• Willing to work rotating on-call schedule and overtime as needed.
• Must possess a valid Class C driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide software assistance and support through direct interaction with clients.
• Develop new applications and scripts to enhance IT operations, processes, and workflows.
• Work with technology vendors to resolve system/hardware issues.
• Provide technical support to City staff and to partner cities.
• Maintain and improve tools used for system analysis.
