Job summary

City of Grand Rapids seeks an IT Support Specialist to deliver desktop support for Environmental Services Department users, coordinating with City IT to ensure fully functional workstations and peripherals. This role also acts as the application administrator or liaison for department-specific software.

The incumbent will participate with various teams, analyze operations, and support planning and budgeting through information systems. This vacancy is within the Environment Services department.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Business Information Systems, or a related field.
• Three (3) years of related work experience.
• Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
• CCNA and PMP certifications are preferred qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Administers and coordinates information systems used by ESD and other departments.
• Facilitates data production to achieve department objectives and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborates with IT staff and vendors to develop, configure, and upgrade systems.
