City of Grand Rapids seeks an IT Specialist to manage testing, configuration and implementation of the water CIS, and provide end-user support and training. You will coordinate with IT staff and vendors to improve systems and ensure compliance.
The role involves creating reports, performing maintenance, and supporting billing, meter reading, and field operations processes related to CIS interfacing applications.
The purpose of this job is to take responsibility for testing, system configuration and implementation, process and report creation and maintenance, end user training, as well as general administration of the water customer information system (CIS). Administers and coordinates information systems used by the Water Department and other departments. Facilitates production of data to achieve department objectives (eg, ATT, Winter Average, etc.) to ensure compliance of Department Rules/Regulations, State Tax Codes, and other City Ordinance. Works with other City Departments, IT Staff, and vendors to develop new systems, resolves system problems, plan and schedule technology installations and upgrade. Conducts administrative research of departmental operations and systems for planning, budgeting, and evaluation purposes. Serves as a liaison between the Water Department and other City operations. Serves on various teams as it relates to the operation of the department information systems. Create and maintain application interferes. Analyzes administrative plans and current practices for simplication through information systems. Supports billing, meter reading, and field operations processes, and all CIS interfacing applications.
