Job summary

Ball State University seeks an IT Business Operations Analyst to provide advanced financial, operational, and systems analysis for technology operations. You will manage budgeting, procurement, enterprise billing, HR position management, vendor contracts, and financial reporting to drive transparency and efficiency.

The role emphasizes automation, data analytics, and cross‑functional collaboration with IT, Finance, HR, and Procurement to improve controls and data accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related financial field.
• Three years of experience in business or financial management.
• One year of experience with Banner Finance and Jaggaer (Procurement).
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement lifecycle activities, including requisitions, POs, invoice validation, vendor communication, credit card reconciliation, receipts, and payments.
• Prepare and process Banner journal vouchers, accounting feeds, budget transfers, and financial adjustments; reconcile FOAPAL activity.
• Process and audit HR position actions and coordinate with HR/Payroll.
• Administer and reconcile monthly enterprise billing for IT services; ensure accuracy of feeds.
• Develop and maintain automated reconciliation models, dashboards, and financial reports.
• Support month-end and year-end close, including billing audits and grants reporting.
• Provide analytical support for server and cloud cost recovery models; assist with recharge methodology.
• Respond to inquiries regarding billing, recharge calculations, budget activity, and procurement.
• Identify and implement workflow automation to reduce manual work and improve controls.
• Collaborate with IT, Finance, HR, Procurement, and Business Affairs on financial operations and system integrations.
• Support special projects and financial modeling for IT budgets and governance.
